“On a positive note though, our number three batsmen Tyran Victor scored an exceptional 51 runs with the bat, before getting caught on the boundary playing a pull shot,” says captain Warren Wooley.
Tyran was the top scorer for the day.
United players were very arrogant and confident bowling an experienced Old Boys side out for only 147.
Warren says they knew United were a young side and inexperienced at premier level, so they backed themselves when taking the field to defend 147 runs.

Opening bowlers George Viviers and Brandon Whitehead gave the team confidence when bowling exceptionally well in the beginning of the innings.
George bowled with serious pace and aggression while Brandon on the other end was knocking them over taking two early wickets. Warren adds after lunch United were batting well, building a good partnership but Old Boys kept believing in themselves and their changed bowlers came on.
Every bowler contributed but Dylan Smallberger bowled an exceptional six overs taking four wickets for only 20 runs. Vice captain Ernest Germishuizen bowling four overs, two wickets for 16 runs.
With great fielding and catches Old Boys rapt the game up bowling United out for only 91 runs.
“It really was an amazing win for us, very proud of the boys as we showed great character on the field and silencing the young united players,” concludes Warren.
