A sunny day for tennis
Selection Park Tennis Club hosted the semi finals the round robin Club Championships on Saturday.
Coach Ian Iggleton says the tournament, which would have taken place two weeks ago, ran over due to the rain.
Elsa Labuschagne and Tony Stevenson defeated Herman Schmulian and Mariaan Joubert in the Mixed Doubles with eight to five.
In the Men’s Doubles Johan du Plessis and Sias Reynecke played against Herman Schmulian and Tony Stevenson and Johan and Sias defeated them six to one and six to three.
In the Woman’s Doubles Linda Knoetze and Elsa Labuschagne defeated Michelle Kent and partner Janet Stevenson six to three and six to three.
Coach Ian Iggleton and club chairman Ernst de Wet defeated Nicky Hirst and John Cunha six love and six three.
But Nicky and John defeated Tony and Herman six to three and seven to six.
The finals will be played on Sunday at 9am at the club.
