Soccer stars in Springs
These children are kept off the streets by caring men who train them on the soccer field
Young soccer players from Payneville were seen in action at the soccer fields behind at PAM Brink Stadium.
Most of the boys from Payneville Brothers are U/14, but they managed to show what they were made of by scoring six goals.
They played against Brakpan Spares and defeated their opponents 6-0.
Hlompo Makgolane scored the sixth goal just before the referee blew the whistle to mark the end of the game.
Other key players in this game were Sax Siyabonga and Mpho Mnisi.
The first team Future Stars won their match against the U/14 Payneville Brothers with 3-0 in a penalty shoot-out.
They also beat Brakpan Spares 5-3.
Coach Desmond Ditshego says the players are being kept off the street and enjoy their soccer.
“We are trying to establish a new league in the area and are looking for other interested teams to join us,” says Desmond.
More games will be played on Saturday starting at 10am, at PAM Brink Stadium.
