Entries for Comrades Marathon closes on November 30
The 2015 race, to be held on May 31, will be the 90th run of this famous ultra-marathon.

The organisers advised athletes to enter as soon as possible for this race, as only 23 000 runners will allowed to take part.

The 2015 Comrades Marathon, to be held on May 31, will be an up run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
With the theme – “be part of it ” or “bamba iqhaza”, those finishing next year’s race will get a bigger special commemorative edition medal.
The first man and woman to cross the finish line will each receive R375 000.
In a first for South African road running, R1.5 million is up for grabs to both the first man and woman who break the current male and female up-run records.
Leonid Shvetsov holds the male up-run record of 5:24:47 for his 2008 win while Elena Nurgalieva’s 2006 victory in a time of 6:09:24 stands as the female up-run record.
The entry fee for the 2015 Comrades Marathon is is R380 for South African citizens.
The early bird fee for locals only is R350, if entered before September 30.
Entries can be done online via www.comrades.com, via post, or handed into the Comrades office in Pietermaritzburg.
The 2014 Comrades times will not be accepted as a qualifier for next year’s marathon, as runners have from August 1, 2014 untill May 4, 2015 to qualify on a 42km or longer race.
