Cricket teams’ results

The partially wet and rainy weekend had mixed results for Springs Old Boys' (SOB) junior and senior cricketers.

Senior results

The Premier team played against Kempton Park in a closely-fought match when SOB bowled Kempton out for 110 runs.

Franco Marais’ bowling figures were 8 overs 3 wickets 19 runs and Jarred James, 7 overs 3 wickets for 23 runs.

SOB’s top run scorers were Tyron Victor with 24 runs and Wickus Germishuizen (19).

The women’s cricket team lost their match against Kempton Park and the fourth league match was rained out.

In the first league match SOB played CBC Boksburg, and won by 2 wickets.

The best players were Morné Mulder who scored 45 runs not out, Gerhard Jordaan who bowled 6 overs 3 wickets for 25 runs and Werner Schwahn who got 4 overs 3 wickets for 15 runs.

Both the Colts league and Directors league were rained out.

The Premier Reserve team lost by 7 wickets against Kempton Park.

The best batsman is Jaco Vrey with 41 runs not out.

Junior results

The U/ 8s lost against Kempton Park.

U/10A played Actonville, but their match was called off when it started to rain after five overs.

U/10 Super won by 7 wickets against KwaThema.

U/12 A lost their match against KwaThema.

U/12 Super team scored 183 runs for 5 wickets in 25 overs played against KwaThema.

Their opening batsman Neill Joubert, was leading from the front with 82 runs not out with Nathan Steyn adding a good 24 runs not out.

The team’s bowlers, Neill Joubert (3 overs 2 wickets 10 runs), Michael Rossouw (2 overs 2 wickets 9 runs), Keshav Somera (4 overs 2 wickets for 16 runs) and Jarred Schimdt (4 overs 1 wicket for 6 runs) all added to the team’s victory.

The U/14A team could not play against Vosloorus due to wet pitch conditions .

U/14 Super team played against KwaThema, scoring 242 runs in 30 overs and bowling KwaThema out for 83.
