Local bowlers happy with second place
The five week October Bowling Trips ended yesterday.
Two Springs clubs took third and second place, but the Northmead bowlers walked away with the floating trophy.
Jannie Mbuli, William Velile Bina and Sam Ngqongwana from
Modderbee Prison Bowling Club was happy with their third position.
Second place was good enough for Springs Town bowlers Tony Tancrel, Cliff Reynolds and Izak Hattingh, for the time being.
A hamper was raffled out and all the funds raised during the competition will be ploughed back into the club.
This annual event takes place at the Springs Town Bowling Club where six Ekurhuleni clubs, Delmas
Bowling Club and Heidelberg Bowling Club take part in the competition.
Izak Hattingh Springs Town’s club secretary, says the competition is always well supported.
After prizegiving, everyone enjoyed the lovely snacks provided by the female members of the club.
