Local football teams competing

The Eastern Springs Football Association hosted an event at the Springs Rugby Club on Saturday.

Tiaan Botha, coach for the U/13 team, says he is surprised the weather allowed them to play.

Pollak Park Young Stars United U/13 team, drew against Multiplayers B 2-2.

The goal scorers were Karabo ‘Balotelli’ Mothlaping and Ethan Mohamed.

The team also played against Multiplayers A team and the goal scorers during this match were Tebogo Seakemela and Tumelo Mothlaping. The Pollak Park Young Stars United beat their opponents 2-1.

The results are as follows:

U/11: Excellence drew against PSG.

U/13: Together United beat Dinoko 1-0; Young Lions lost against Comeback United 0-3 and Pollak Park Young Stars B lost 0-4 to Young Lions.

U/15: Excellence drew against Future Stars Comeback United 3-0; Siwelele beat the Young Lions team with three goals to two; Comeback United beat the Young Lions team 3-2; Pollak Park Young Stars beat Multiplayers 4-3.

U/17: Future Stars drew against Excellence 2-2; No goals were scored in the match between Pollak Park Young Stars and Multiplayers (0-0); Pollak Park Young Stars beat Benoni 2-0.

The club is looking for referees and offers a two-day referee training course free of charge.
