Novice shows her bowling skills
Bowlers from Springs Town Bowling Club challenged each other in different divisions in the league games on Saturday.
Monica Rudolph and Tokkie Hattingh played in the Women’s Singles with Sienie Engelbrecht as the marker.
Tokkie says it was a nail-biting game as she was seven points down but quickly recovered, however, not quick enough as Monica, a newcomer to the club, showed extreme talent by beating Tokkie with one point scoring 21-20.
In the Mixed Selected Pairs Dominco Ragusa and his wife Emma Ragusa won 30-10 against Dirk Coetzee and Ulrika Swanepoel.
Mybert Visser and Chris van Heerden challenged John Molupi and Hennie Greyling in the Men’s Selected Pairs, but lost 29-11.
Tony Tancrel beat Okkie Nel in the Men’s Handicap Singles with 21-15 points.
Izak Hattingh, the club secretary, showed his skills are not rusted by beating Abe Fourie 21-10.
Pieter Rudolph and Alex Rudloph played in the Mixed Novice Singles with Alex beating Pieter 21-17.
The winners of all the games are going through to the next round which will be played on Saturday at 2pm.
John is going to take part in a bowling tournament in Port Elizabeth in April, therefore the club is hosting a fund-raising event on March 21, at the club, to raise funds to enable John to further his bowling skills at the competition.
Another fun day will be held on April 2 at the club between 9am and 6pm, with a Two Bowler Pairs competition.
