Rising Stars take a knock

On Saturday Siwelele Football Club’s u-15s played an away league game against Rising Stars Soccer Club.

Kick-off was at noon and the game proved to be another show-down for Siwelele FC.

The first half was a display of discipline, pure skill and talent from Siwelele FC’s side as they managed to start off strong.

“Today we are on fire,” says Siwelele FC’s coach, Mpho Aphane.

“Judging from the first match of the day, I can see my Siwelele boys came here to win.”

Tshepo Mampuru of Siwlele FC scored the first goal of the game shortly into the beginning of the first half.

He then got spectators and team mates fired up as he shortly followed up with a second goal.

“That was a television moment indeed,” says Mpho.

“Two goals in a space of 10 minutes are impressive.”

The Rising Stars appeared discouraged but they forged ahead as they tried to defend against any more goals.

Unfortunately, Luzuko Mbenyane of Siwelele FC added salt to the wound by scoring the third goal of the first half.

“This is so exciting and I am proud to be witnessing the boys playing such a strong and tactical game,” says Mpho.

The score at the end of the first half was 3-0 to Siwelele FC.

Without wasting any time, Siwelele FC took ownership of the second half as they went in for the attack.

The adrenalin of the boys was well felt by all who were watching.

Tielo Matsepane scored the fourth goal for Siwelele FC and placed his team well into the lead.

“I can see that the team is working and gelling well,” says Mpho.

“They are not allowing anyone from the other team to get even the slightest chance to score.”

Lumko Madikwa of Siwelele Fc must have heard the coach from a distance as he came in with the fifth goal for his team.

Towards the end of the second half, it was evident that there was no turning back.

Siwelele FC had taken the game.

To add insult to injury, Tshepo Mokoena of Siwelele FC gave his team their sixth and final goal of the match, in the last few minutes of the game.

“Well, there is nothing more to say,” says Mpho.

“The boys’ performance today speaks for them.”

The final score was 6-0 to Siwelele FC.
