Two more rounds for Super 16 golf challenge
Ruan Jonker was the individual winner of the competition.
The fifth round of the Super 16 golf tournament took place at the Springs Country Club on Saturday.
Between 7am and 9am, 96 players teed off from the starting point.
Team Blue Bulls won the competition with 131 points.
The best individual player was Ruan Jonker with 43 points.
Club committee member, Merlene Nel, says the competition started in 2009.
The idea was to involve players from other clubs and to raise funds for the club.
Nel says eight Group A teams play against each Group B team.
Super 16 is played over seven months and the top teams in the two groups then play in the semi-final.
The two group winners then compete in the finals.
Each team consists of six players, three groups of two players.
The group results are:
Fielies and Nokkie Willemse won with 48 points, with Malcolm Pieterse and Frikkie Colyn with 47 points.
Barto Greeff and Harm Kruger took third place with 46 points.
Malcolm took nearest the pin at hole two and Stefan Kruger at hole 12.
Delano Kotze and Christo Nortje won the Betterball Stableford club competition with 44 points.
This competition was also played on Saturday.
Leon Lubbe and Johan du Plessis took second place with 42 points.
