Under 50s win for first time in 14 years

Eighty players competed on the day.

The format of the competition was Ryder Cup and play consisted of six holes foursomes, six holes betterball and six holes singles match play.

This year, for the first time in 14 years, the Under 50s were victorious by 36 points to 27.

“Well done to Koos Erasmus and his team,” says Deon Kotze, golf captain at the Springs Country Club.

“Commiserations to José Carrazon, captain of the Over 50s, who had his head shaved as part of the challenge.”

The first round of the singles knockout will take place on Saturday.

The Club Championships will take place on March 3 and 4.
