Springs fighter places first in SABJJF Gauteng Championship

Kyle won his first leg in SABJJF championship.

A student from the Rio Grappling Club of Springs, Kyle Pretorius, competed in the South African Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (SABJJF) Gauteng Championship second leg last Saturday.

Sensei Shaun Naudé says Kyle fought earlier this year and won the first leg.

“On Saturday he competed again and won both fights as well as his division,” he says.

“The second fight lasted 14 seconds winning via a strong choke submission.

“I was still shouting at him from the coaches corner to get the points first when the referee stopped the fight when the other boy tapped out,” he says.
