Springs golfer dreams big
After completing his BEd degree last year, he left South Africa for the shores of America to see if he could start a golfing career.
Springs Country Club wishes to express their gratitude towards one of their finest players, Delano Kotze, who is making his name known on the international stage.
According to Springs Country Club golf captain Deon Kotzé, Delano came through the junior ranks and won a few club championships and did well in their league sides as well as in a few of the provincial amateur tournaments.
After completing his BEd degree last year, he left South Africa for the shores of America to see if he could start a golfing career.
He did well in a few small tournaments and is now working closely with coach Brian Smith, a former coach of US PGA player Patrick Reed, and has improved his skills dramatically.
“He has now joined the US Golf Amateur Tour and competed in his first event this week, the Woodlands Country Club Tournament, and came first out of a field of 80 players,” says Deon.
The Club wishes Delano all the best.
