Jolly’s lose league game

Martin van Vuuren of the Jolly’s made 51 runs from 37 balls and also got four wickets from three overs.

 

The Jolly brothers played against the Back Stoppers at the Olympia Park cricket fields last Sunday under pleasant weather conditions.

It was a league game called the Sunday One.

The league has six teams and is played over 15 weeks. Teams play each other twice in the league.

Owen Chritshino, the franchise owner of LastManStands Benoni/Springs says, “We have two leagues, called the Sunday One which has six teams in it and the Sunday Two with eight teams.

“Teams which will finish in position one to four will go to the semi-finals.

“Currently the Jolly’s are in position five and will need to win at least two games to be in the top four.”

The Jolly’s won the toss and elected to bat first.

They scored 155 runs for four wickets in 20 overs.

The back stoppers got 158 runs for four wickets in 16.4 overs.
