Springs, however, were unable to repeat their heroics this time. They lost 46-30.

The local boys did not make it easy for them, but the dominance of the Vereeniging’s forwards provided them with the upper hand.

Coach Ockert Brits admitted that, “We had a long season and our injuries definitely cost us the match, but it’s clear that Vereeniging were more determined to win than us.”

Despite the defeat, Springs should be very proud of how the team played, and for making it to the final.
