Springs Girls play their hearts out of the field
The games were part of the Slovo Park Hlanganani Festive Games, which included netball and soccer.
Springs Girls netball team didn’t let anything get in the way of them playing their best against the Butterflies team on Saturday morning at Slovo Park.
The rain, heat and dusty conditions did not seem to affect the team who are based in Payneville.
The team, who were playing away from home, played three matches on the day, winning two of them.

The games were part of the Slovo Park Hlanganani Festive Games which included netball and soccer.
In the first netball match of the games, Springs Girls u-16 played against Butterflies and won 36-4.
Unfortunately, the team could not win their second game against Slovo JSS and lost narrowly with a score of 15-13.

Springs Girls bounced back quickly from their loss and in their final match won 8-3.
Coach Kate Mahlangu was proud of the performance her team put in.
“I think the players tried their best.
“Yes, they made some mistakes here and there, but I think they should hold their heads high,” says Mahlangu.

The coach went on to say although the team had transport problems during the season, they played as many games as possible which was a good experience for them.
Coach of the Butterflies team Vanessa Mtyali was equally proud of her team and says she is happy with the way they played.
“I would say the games went well for us and we did our best,” says Mtyali.
In the final ranking after the games were done for the weekend, Golden Stars from Slovo Park came first, Slovo JSS was second and Springs Girls was third.
