Emphatic victory for Etwatwa at Springs Old Boys

Etwatwa cruised to a five-wicket win over Tsakane at the Springs Old Boys cricket grounds on Saturday afternoon.
The match was part of the Fit League, which is almost over.

In response, Etwatwa scored 165 runs in 26 overs, for the loss of five wickets.

Best performer with the bat for Etwatwa was Sifiso Ntuli with 34 runs, not out.
He was well supported by Thabang Masetlane, who also scored 34 runs in his innings.
Ntokozo Masuku was the star performer will the ball as he took three wickets in six overs, for just 17 runs.

Coach Sizo Vilakazi was happy with the performance his team put in.
“Masuku and Lwazi Vilakazi really played well, and they’re still young, with Masuku being 13 and Lwazi is 14.
“Masuku was selected for the Easterns for the u-15 team,” he says.
Despite the win, coach Vilakazi says there’s still room for improvement.

“Our opening bowlers need to do better during their opening spells.
“We are leaking a lot of runs at the beginning,” says Vilakazi.
The team will face Wattville next in Benoni.
