Striders’ race might delay traffic

For the safety of the runners, the Traffic Department has ordered partial road closure on some roads.

The Striders will be hosting their annual Manjoh (Previously Garbie) Striders 32km and 15km race on January 19.

The gruelling but popular event will be celebrating its 51st birthday.

The race will test the bodies and minds of many eager athletes from all over Springs and the East Rand.

The race starts at the Veritas Senior College at 6am and will be affecting traffic in that area until about 11am.

For the safety of the runners, the Traffic Department has ordered partial road closure on some roads.

Runners must obey these rules at all times.

The race follows a two-lap circular route that snakes through Geduld, Springs Town Central, Ermelo Road, Strubenvale, Casseldale, Wit Road, Selection Park and Plantation Road.

Unfortunately, there might be delays in getting to the Sunday morning services.

The Striders ask that residents in these areas allow extra time for this and thanks the community for its co-operation.
