The betterball knockout final was recently contested at the Springs Country Club and saw a battle between fathers and sons.
The betterball knockout final was recently contested at the Springs Country Club and saw a battle between fathers and sons.
The teams in the finals were Doug Buckley, recently selected chairperson, and Bennie Coleman, who came up against their sons, Byron Buckley and Dylan Coleman.
“We cannot recall this ever happening in recent years but in the end Doug and Bennie triumphed.
“The fathers versus sons clash ended 3-2.
“Well done to the fathers,” said Deon Kotze from the club.

The subscription fees for 2021 are as follows:
• Full male member (including affiliation fees and HNA) R3 000
• Full female member (including affiliation fees and HNA) R2 400
• Pensioner member (including affiliation fees and HNA) R1 620
• Family deal (including affiliation fees and HNA) R5 400
• Student member (including affiliation fees and HNA) R1 320
• Junior member (including affiliation fees and HNA) R950
• Mid-week member (including affiliation fees and HNA) R2 300
• Corporate membership to be discussed with chairperson, Doug Buckley.
• Advanced green fees (excluding subs) R4 700
• Advanced green fees for juniors (excluding subs) R500.
Discounts will be given to fees paid before January 15.

The programme for the rest of the year is as follows:
• December 16 – Public Holiday Open Day Betterball Stableford
R180 per player including competition fee.
• December 19 – Combined Stableford – normal club competition
R180 per player including competition fee.
• December 25 – Club and course closed.
• December 26 – IPS club competition.
R180 per player including competition fee.
All members of Ekurhuleni Golf Union clubs will enjoy reciprocity at the Springs Country Club from December 17 until January 15, 2021.
