The rivalry will only become more intense as the season draws to a close with only six races to go.
The battle for which African team will be playing in next year’s FIFA World Cup is also gaining traction. Bafana Bafana was drawn in Group G alongside Ghana, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia in the CAF African World Cup qualifiers and is currently leading the group having not lost a game and drawing one game against Ghana. Bafana Bafana has three matches left in the second round stage and will go on to play the leaders of the other groups in the third round if they end at the top of Group G.
Africa has five spots available in the FIFA 2022 World Cup. The last time South Africa’s National soccer team participated in the World Cup was when South Africa was the host nation in 2010.
