Shotokan Dojo calls for women to support Africa Women’s Cup Karate Championship

Pan African Shotokan Karate Federation will be hosting it's first Africa Women's Cup Karate Championship on August 12th & 13th at the Springs Civic Centre in commemoration of women's month.

Shihan Michael Cindi Mailula of Pan African Shotokan Karate Federation is inviting women to support them as they host their first Africa Women’s Cup Karate Championship on August 12 and 13, at the Springs Civic Centre, in celebration of Women’s Month.
Cindi said by hosting the championships they want to honour women in karate.
“Since it’s Women’s Month we took this chance to host the championship as a way to commemorate women,” said Mailula.

The competition will see almost 40 women from local provinces, Zimbabwe and Malawi competing.
“I’m very excited to be hosting our first international event. It’s overwhelming but as the days go by I feel ready. I’m also appealing to women, especially from law enforcement, to join our dojo.
“Women may also come for self-defence classes,” added Mailula.
The dojo aims to promote martial arts to women and hopes there will be a number of them on the day of the event.
