Springs Tigers FC junior teams received silver medals at a soccer tournament

The Springs Tigers FC teams participated in Serengeti Academy HTP Tournament where they were runner-ups in their divisions.

Springs Tigers Football Club’s U7, U8, and U10 teams reached the podium. They returned with silver medals after participating in the Serengeti Academy HTP Tournament on October 10 and 11, with seven teams in each age group.

The club’s chairperson, Shalom Mazibuko, said the teams delivered impressive performances throughout the tournament.

The U7L2 team finished as runners-up in the U7 division after an impressive campaign of four wins, one draw and only one defeat.

Mazibuko said that their performance demonstrated great determination and competitiveness throughout the tournament.

The U8 team played five matches, winning three and drawing two, while conceding just one goal throughout the tournament.

“This was a remarkable defensive performance. The U8s are wrapping up their season on a high note. They have won the U8L2 league, reached the semifinals of the ELFA Cup competition and now finished as finalists at the Serengeti Academy HTP Tournament,” said Mazibuko.

Mazibuko said the U8 team entered the tournament as last year’s U7 Serengeti champions, making this another proud achievement for the players and the club.

He noted that the U10 team performed extremely well as novices.

“This achievement is particularly special because it was their first time reaching the podium and earning medals. We believe this milestone will be a huge motivation for the team as they continue to grow and develop,” he said.

Although the club did not secure a gold medal, it was the only club to reach the podium three times at a tournament that featured 13 teams.

The chairman expressed that extremely proud of the players, parents and coaching staff. He said that these results reflect the hard work, commitment and development taking place within the club.

“We continue to believe that success is not only measured by trophies, but also by the growth of our players, the experience they gain and the confidence they build through competing at this level,” said Mazibuko.
