Spray, shave or cut for CANSA Shavathon
Carnival City has hopped on board to support the 2015 CANSA Shavathon this Saturday.
People keen to show their support for this fun-filled, yet meaningful annual cancer awareness and fundraising event can venture down to the complex to shave, cut or spray their hair.
Michelle Smith, the Marketing Manager at Carnival City says the CANSA Shavathon is one of South Africa’s most-supported and best-loved charity events.
“Carnival City is proud to provide a place for people to come and show solidarity with people affected by cancer, and help generate funds.
“We encourage our community to come down and be part of this event and make a contribution to this worthy cause,” she says.
This year, being the 12th year that the national CANSA Shavathon has been held, people will have the choice of shaving or spraying their hair.
They will also have the option to donate their ponytail, of 25cm in length, which will go toward making wigs for cancer patients in need, or purchase a CANSA wrap.
The cost of participating in the 2015 CANSA Shavathon is R50 for adults and R25 for children under 12 years old.
Proceeds will go towards funding the care and support programmes that CANSA offers, mainly rendered at CANSA Care Centres which deliver care and support programmes to those affected by cancer.
The CANSA Shavathon stand will be open at Carnival City from 10am to 4pm at the casino main entrance.
