I must say I didn’t have very high expectations, but have to add that I’ve seen worse.
It wasn’t the best, but it exceeded my rather low prediction of it.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul is a typical family movie. The typical family adventure goes awry and disaster unfolds.
Conflicting brothers connive against their parents and build a kind of relationship.
After being embarrassed and a video of “Diaper Hands” going viral, Greg, the main teenage character tries everything to make people forget what they’ve seen and encourages them to be “cool”.
Naturally, the opposite keeps happening.
Greg ‘unintentionally’ keeps landing his family in even hotter water and more disaster.
In the end, as with most family adventures and despite the disasters that occurred like a vehicle probably costing thousands to repair, the family end up at their destination and are happier and more bonded than before.
Surprisingly, the story has some very amusing parts and some rather wistful scenes.
This is definitely a movie that can be enjoyed by a child, teenager, parents and grandparents.
