• Bhairavi Sungum of Springs invites the community to a high tea fund-raiser in celebration of Women’s Day. The funds will be used to purchase a new kombie to help service the educational, welfare and cultural needs of their community. Guided group tour through Melville Koppies Central. Sets off 2pm sharp. Park in the upper car park at Marks Park, Judith Rd, Emmarentia. Then walk across Judith to entrance opposite. • Join Hospice East Rand for Great Balls Of Fire! The Tale of Jerry Lee Lewis starring Jonathan Roxmouth. The bus leaves hospice’s offices at 218 Kemston Avenue, Western Extension, Benoni at 1pm and the show, which is being staged at Montecasino, starts at 3pm. First Wednesday of the month
• Join the Boksburg Hiking Club for a meeting at the Atlas Bowling Club, corner of Denel North and Atlas roads, Bonaero Park. Braai fires will be ready from 5.30pm for a bring and braai.
