Nomads Golf Club come to Springs Country Club
At the Springs Country Club, 166 Easterns Nomads turned up, which club chairperson Christo Nortje described as a big boost for the club.
The Nomads Golf Club of South Africa returned to Springs after a three-year absence.
The Nomads descended in their numbers on the Springs Country Club on Saturday.
The club, which was founded in 1960, is a national club where its 1 700 members visit various golf clubs throughout the country with the aim of providing the opportunity for people from different walks of life to meet one another at least once a month to play golf and make new friends.
The club also seeks to encourage the growth of golf and to generate funds for charitable causes or people less fortunate than themselves.

At the Springs Country Club, 166 Easterns Nomads turned up, which club chairperson Christo Nortje described as a big boost for the club.
“It just shows that if you keep doing the little things right, it all combines to become something great.
“As a club, it shows we are heading in the right direction,” says Nortje.
The day ended with a prize-giving:
A Division winner of the Llew Burgess Trophy: Dirck Wayber with 36 points on count out.
B Division winner of the Alan Wilson Trophy: Rob Gordon with 36 points.
C Division winner of the Syd Russell Trophy: Wouter Beukes with 36 points.

For the Springs Country Club members, there was the Betterball Multiplier competition to win.
In first place were Ilana Prinsloo and Chantelle Davis with 59 points on count out.
The runners-up were Rob Stephens and Jose Carrazon with 59 points.
This Saturday will see the Springs Country Club Open Foursomes over 36 holes taking place.
