Springs Clinic allegedly out of chronic medication
Bester went on to allege that last Monday, the clinic closed early and made all the patients go home as they did not have any medication.
Patients have been turned away from the Springs Clinic for the past two weeks as the facility allegedly does not have certain types of chronic medication.
Martin Bester says he went to the clinic last Monday and the Monday before and he was allegedly turned away by the staff as they did not have his medication.
“They did not give us an alternative date to come back on.
“As it stands I had to pay R200 for 30 pills, but what is going to happen next month if they still don’t have my medication,” says Bester.
Bester went on to allege that last Monday, the clinic closed early and made all the patients go home as they did not have any medication.

Similarly, Veronica Branca says when she turned up for her appointment last Friday, the staff refused to help her as they accused her of changing the date of her appointment on her card.
“Why would I do something so dishonest?
“When I say the sister make a mistake on my card when she was writing my appointment date during my last appointment in January, I asked her to sign underneath to indicate that she was one who did it, she refused.
“On top of that, the staff refused to help me because they don’t hand out chronic medication on a Friday.
“What am I supposed to do now, I am already a week without my pills,” says Branca.
Branca says she is furious by how she was treated by the staff who are supposed to be helping people.
The Department of Health failed to respond despite numerous enquiries, but The Addie will follow up on this story.
