Kate Wise is just settling down in retirement after a 30-year career as an FBI agent when her friend’s daughter is killed during a house robbery.
Wise cannot sit by and do nothing, so she joins the hunt for the killer.
However, finding the killer proves harder than she initially thought it would be in this small quiet town.
Pierce has does a fine job in keeping you guessing who the killer is.

This fast-paced thriller does a good job of getting you into the main character’s mind as she works to hunt down the killer.
Also, who doesn’t love a 50-something-year-old woman who can give the young bucks a run for their money.
This is a solid crime novel that is sure to help you pass the time during the lockdown.
