Witbank Rugby Club excited about getting game time

Fitness and conditioning is the main focus for Witbank Rugby Club

It has been a tough ride for sport all around the world, but contact sport has been at the bad end of the stick during the Covid-19 pandemic.

There is some good news to share, it was announced from SA Rugby earlier this year that club rugby may resume non-contact training.

Fitness and conditioning are allowed for four weeks before contact and ball-handling may resume for another four weeks.

After the eight-week preparation, SA Rugby will then review and give feedback on what to expect for club rugby this year.

Witbank Rugby Club has started with their fitness and conditioning programs to get the players in shape for a hopeful competitive rugby season this year.

Frik Visagie, Witbank Rugby Club chairman said during an interview with WITBANK NEWS: “We are happy to see some old and new faces back on the field during the preparation for some action-packed rugby this year.”

If you are fired up and want to get on the rugby field for some crunching tackles or exciting running, training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:30 to 20:00 at Witbank High rugby field.
