The most recent incident occurred on Tuesday, April 8 when a woman was robbed of her one-of-a-kind golden necklace.
The victim, who wishes not to be named, said that the necklace was specially made for her by her late husband. Apart from being made of gold, it has priceless sentimental value and is irreplaceable. “I don’t know why I wore it that day. I never wear it,” said the victim.
She went to the department during the morning but the trouble started when she returned to her vehicle. After she got into her vehicle an unknown man opened the passenger door and while she leaned over hastily to close the door, a man opened the door to her driver’s side.
The robber immediately reached out and grabbed her necklace. She tried to fight him off but in the struggle the necklace cut deep into her neck.
The robber managed to rip the necklace off and the two suspects ran away. The victim recalls another person walking along the road who saw what happened. As the robbers ran in the passer-by’s direction, she tried to stop them but they knocked her down and managed to escape.
This is the third incident in as many weeks, where robbers have targeted women alone outside the license department.

Do not leave valuables in view on the car seat for example as many robbers are opportunists. Whenever possible do not travel alone.
