Gunmen rob motorist of lump sum and cellphones at Corridor Crescent

SAPS advises the public against withdrawing large sums of money at once, as it puts them at risk of being robbed.

Police in eMalahleni are searching for two masked men who held up a motorist following a bank withdrawal at a local shopping complex yesterday, October 7.

The victim withdrew a large sum of money at around 09:30 before driving straight to his workplace in Corridor Crescent.

As he parked his bakkie alongside a colleague and got out, a silver VW Polo stopped directly in front of his vehicle.

Cash and phones stolen

Two armed, masked men wearing gloves got out of the vehicle, approached the colleagues and demanded the cash.

The assailants searched the victim at gunpoint, located the money inside his bakkie and took both men’s cellphones before fleeing.
