Community Policing Forum (CPF) in the area reacted immediately as soon a resident radioed in that they saw dozens of angry workers chasing a man across the highway into Del Judor Ext 4.
The CPF members helped to calm the angry workers and they searched for the alleged robber who was quickly found and held in custody for police to make an official arrest.
The contract workers identified the man as the robber before the police made the official arrest.
According to the worker who got paid on Friday April 25 when the incident happened, they were finishing for the day at a building site in Reyno Ridge when they saw the suspect.
It is alleged that he robbed some of them the previous month and most likely tried it again.
The suspect was set to appear in court on Tuesday, April 29 for the initial hearing.
Johan Momberg, Del Judor Ext 4 CPF chairman, said, “The CPF guys did a really great job. It could have ended a lot worse if they were not there.”
