His surprise came about because he is staying in a shack without electricity, water or sewer system; in short the shack is not serviced.
He explained that he was evicted and was placed in the present stand by former Cllr Baloyi in 2008. He has been staying in that stand and has fought a losing battle to have the stand serviced. “In February this year, speaker of council Cllr Augustine Mkwanazi instructed that my stand must be serviced, an official promised that it will be done, but it was never done.
In April this year, I was told to pay a deposit of R6 000 to have the stand serviced but I was surprise to receive the bill without having paid the deposit required,” noted Mr Marobola.

Mr Marobola said he received the bill of R2 300 for the month of April, billed for water, sewerage, and other services.
Mr Marobola said he was going to take the matter up with council and find out how did they work out this amount, because he does not have a water meter or a toilet and stays alone in the shack. Mr Marobola said he collects water from a nearby stream flowing from underground.
