A look into the Kriel Police
Children from all over Ga-Nala had the opportunity to visit Kriel Police Station as part of the police’s Bring a Child to Work Day.
The project took place on May 29. The children were given a guided tour of the police station and were ‘inducted’ into the ranks of the police.
Before heading out on a foot patrol of the mall, the children were taken to the holding cells to see where the bane of society ended up.

In the courtyard Lt Col Herold Mashile explained to the children that they would be performing a road block and went over the necessary steps involved, such as identifying the vehicle, cautioning it to stop and signalling to where it should stop as well as the approach police use when conducting these road blocks.
At first the children were a little hesitant to stop vehicles and perform the searches but after the first few had a go at it the rest followed in sync.
