Sewerage flowing into the streets in Klarinet

Sewerage has been flowing out of some houses in Klarinet for the past weeks.

Several houses were affected by the spillage and the residents said they couldn’t take it any more. They said they do not know what to do now. They said they have reported the matter to the municipality several times.

“How can they expect people to live in such a mess, we have been living under these conditions for such a long time and it seems nobody cares. Municipal workers came and fix these sewerages and after several weeks they are blocked again. Somebody is going to get sick here and maybe actions will be taken but we doubt it.”

Several houses have been affected by the sewerage flowing to the street and down tall grass in one of the streets in Extension 4. In the other street, about five houses are affected and this seems that it has been going on for a long time with the sewerage flowing down a path.

Attempts to speak Cllr Patrick Mashiane failed as his phone was not answered.
