The first of several accidents reported on June 10 was when a white Audi and Nissan collided at the intersection of Beatty and Woltemade Streets. Bystanders on scene told that the Audi was travelling straight on in Woltemade Street when it collided with the turning Nissan.
The patients where transported to hospital by JD-Med.
At around 12:00, another serious accident was reported on the Ogies road when a man died after a devastating collision with a truck.
The crumpled remains of the white bakkie the man was driving was found several meters from where the truck stood. Emergency services and ambulances; ER24 and Langamed Emergency Management rushed to the scene only to find the driver, not formally identified yet, already dead.
Bystanders on scene said that the truck was overtaking another vehicle when the head-on collision occurred.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
At around 18:20 an accident was reported in Watermeyer Street (near Tasbet Spar) when a red Toyota Corolla collided with a white Volkswagen Polo. Both of the vehicles were travelling straight on the road when the Toyota crashed into the other vehicle from behind. The patients in both vehicles only obtained slight injuries and was transported to hospital by Langamed Emergency Management.
