No to drugs project is in first gear
The WITBANK NEWS ‘’No to drugs’ project is gaining momentum. With the focus on the youth during June the project is being introduced to schools in the city.
It is a known fact that the city is a hub of drug abuse and drug trafficking.
In March 2013 approximately 92 drug addicts knocked on Sanca’s door for help. A year later that number has increased to 104 addicts seeking help in March alone.

After several comments and letters, WITBANK NEWS partnered up with the SAPS to ‘educate’ parents, teachers, and the youth about the effects of drugs.
Capt Eddie Hall, police spokesperson presented some interesting facts to the teachers at Cambridge Academy who played host to the project on June 17.
“There are 200 identified drug dealers in eMalahleni alone,” he said.
Capt Hall showed the teachers examples of the different drugs available on the streets and also paraphernalia associated with it.
Mr Nico Bronkhorst from the school said the staff would keep the police and also the WITBANK NEWS in their prayers as they push this project forward.
“Please pray for our children, as they are the ones who need guidance,” Mr Bronkhorst said.
