No more free ‘juice’ for petrol thieves

Two arrested for driving off with full tanks

Last week WITBANK NEWS ‘car full of fuel, garages short of cash‘ reported about two people driving around eMalahleni, filling up with petrol then driving off without paying.

On Tuesday, July 29 after six petrol stations in eMalahleni were hit by these young men, they were finally stopped and arrested.

At approximately 21:00, Witbank SAPS arrested the two men, aged 28 and 24 years old, at a petrol station.
The men would arrive at a petrol station and they would ask the petrol attendant to fill the car up.

The petrol attendant then went to ask for money, and the driver would say that he needed oil for the car.
As the petrol attendant went to get oil, the driver drove off without paying.

The men appeared in Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, July 31 and the case was postponed to later this week.
