Erasmus lost his eyesight when he was allegedly shot in the eye on the evening of May 1.
The alleged shooting incident probed investigations by the police, as well as Witbank SPCA as the woman believed to be responsible was also running an animal farm.
On May 5 police arrested the woman, who spent four nights in custody and appeared in Witbank Magistrate’s Court on May 9, facing charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm without a license, and firing a firearm within municipal boundaries. Her case was postponed to July 29 for further investigation.
On July 29 prosecutors requested that the case be moved into Regional Court and the date be set at August 25.
Witbank SPCA headed out to the house on August 5 to speak with the family in Ackerman Street, however when they arrived at the gate they were met with an eerie quiet and no answer.
Neighbours approached SPCA Inspector Mpho Mokoena and said that there was a pair of people in the home, yet no one came out to open the gate.
Witbank SPCA is now forced to acquire a court order giving them access to the house and yard, which they will exert later this week.
Erasmus on the other hand stated that he is feeling much better, however he still has no eyesight in his right eye and needs to undergo a number of operations in hope of regaining his eyesight.
