Mr Lebo Phepeng was travelling on Watermeyer Street on July 30 at about 19:30 when he approached the robots at the Formula 1 Hotel.
He alleged that the driver of a Mazda came from the opposite direction and failed to observe the robots.
According to Phepeng the robot was green for him and the driver of the Mazda, who is not known as he allegedly fled the scene after the accident, had failed to stop.
Phepheng was travelling with two passengers in his car and they were slightly injured in the collision. The other vehicle had one passenger and she was seriously injured. The seriously injured was only identified as ‘Miss Nkosi’ and it is not yet known where she originates from.
The police are looking for the driver of the Mazda with registration FHW 630 MP, as he fled from the scene. A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened against the driver.
