Residents say the well-known gang has been doing this for a number of years and that even the police are aware of their terror.
Now the residents said they have had enough and would like to see justice being done to avoid more terror.
The latest victims of the gang were brothers Abram and Obed Mathibela. They said about 18 members of the gang assaulted them on Saturday, August 30 while they were on their way back home at about midnight.
The brothers were allegedly assaulted near the gate of their home. The gang also allegedly broke windows and a door in the house.
“They started assaulting us without asking any questions. We were hit all over our bodies and they even ripped my underwear. Our crime was that we were walking home and they do not want to see any person in the streets during the night, as if they own the place. An elderly woman asked what was happening and was also assaulted and dragged on the road while she was trying to run away,” said Abram.
Abram said he was hit by a brick and was kicked in the chest by the gang members. His brother Obed was hit by a brick in his left leg and could not walk after the assault. He was admitted to hospital the next day.
A friend staying in the same yard helped the brothers and the woman.
According to residents the gang members also assaulted a second woman on the same night. The residents said police were called but only one officer came and no one was arrested.
The residents said they even called their councillor, Cllr Bongane Nkosi, to try to sort the matter out.
The matter has been reported to the police and a case of assault is being investigated.
