Scrap yard closed in Vosman

Recently Vosman Police made a breakthrough in closing down a scrap yard allegedly operating illegally in Vosman.

Recently Vosman Police made a breakthrough in closing down a scrap yard allegedly operating illegally in Vosman.

The police raided the area on Tuesday, September 16, at about 10:00 and found a large amount of goods.
The goods, which were mostly steel items, were found in two houses in the area.

On further investigation the police found that the items belonged to Transnet, and the company positively identified the goods, valued  at about R21 900.

The police have arrested a 43-year-old suspect, who claimed that he bought the items from somebody else. The man appeared in court on Wednesday, September 17.

The scrap yard has since been closed.

The police are conducting further investigations on the case.
