A foreign shop owner reported to Vosman Police Station that unknown people have kidnapped his brother.
Mr Fayk Omar reported that his brother was kidnapped on Saturday, September 27 at about 12:20 at Ekaravaneni Tuck Shop in Phase 4.
Omar said he was phoned by one of his brother’s assistants who informed him that his brother had been kidnapped. It is said four foreigners travelling in a car kidnapped him. The suspects took his money and later forced him into the car and drove away.
After receiving the call, Omar drove to his brother’s shop and found the assistant outside, he looked shocked by the incident. After a few minutes Omar received a call saying that if he wanted his brother, he must deposit R20 000 into a bank account and he would be released.
According to witnesses, the kidnappers were driving a white Nissan panel van with Free State registration number.
No one has been arrested and police are investigating.
