In two cases Witbank Police have exacted the law on suspects in possession of suspected stolen property.
Both arrests took place on February 17, the first occurred at 06:00 when police out on patrol on the Bethal Road spotted a red Toyota Hilux double cab that was turning in the direction of Greenside Mine.
Police stopped the vehicle and conducted a search, on the back of the bakkie police discovered a cow which had been slaughtered, its innards were removed.
On questioning the occupants of the bakkie, police were told that they found the cow at the dam and just decided to kill it. The occupants of the bakkie were then placed under arrest for possession of suspected stolen property.
At about 08:40 police out on patrol received a call from the control room requesting that they head to the Klarinet Industrial Area.
On their arrival they met with the complainant who steered them in the direction of a scrap yard believed to be in possession of suspected stolen HDP pipes.
On questioning the owner of the scrap yard to the origin of the pipes, the owner failed to tell the police how the pipes got into his yard, he also failed to produce the necessary documentation for the pipes, the man was charged with possession of stolen property and placed under arrest.
