Six assailants waited at the door for the unwary Mr Bakar Akir to open his front door before three of them stormed in.
The armed robbery took place on March 26 at about 18:30 when Akir and a friend were heading out of his home in Pine Ridge.
On entering his home, the three suspects demanded that Akir hand over his firearm and money, the suspects then proceeded to assault Akir and his friend.
After the assault Akir divulged the information to the suspects who then took what they wanted and one of the vehicle’s keys, the car however was not parked in the yard and so the suspects had to flee on foot.
Damages and the valuables stolen were estimated at about R75 000.
Akir was unavailable for comment.
