A man was robbed of R20 000 after supposedly being tricked by two suspects.
In April Mr Joseph Bathweng was traveling in his car from Kwa-Guqa extension 16 with the intent to travel to Clewer when he came across a hitchhiker looking for a lift to the city.
“I told him that I am not going to the city but would give him a lift if he paid me R100,” said Bathweng.
On their arrival in eMalahleni the hitchhiker asked Bathweng to wait as he needed to fetch his friend to bring the money to pay him.
After a few minutes the hitchhiker’s friend came and told Bathweng to go somewhere else. Bathweng further said that he could not recall how they robbed him of R20 000 and did not want to comment further other than saying, “They tricked me.”
