Young man allegedly assaulted and dogs set on him
She said it all started when her son was called to the house in Extension 3. She could not believe what she saw.
Ms Maria Jiyane feels that because she was poor, she has been badly treated and no respect shown to her, this came after her son was allegedly assaulted and dogs set on him.
According to Ms Jiyane she was called from her home in Hlalanikahle Extension 2 and told that her son Sibusiso Skosana (22) was being assaulted in one of the houses in Hlalanikahle Extension 3. She said it all started when her son was called to the house in Extension 3. She said she did not believe what she saw.
“I found my son being assaulted, kicked and dogs were set on him, I could not believe what I saw. He was accused of stealing truck batteries. They were assaulting him, kicking him and they used a hammer to assault him and they then set the dogs on him. One of the dogs was on his throat. One of the people assaulting my son was a police reservist,” said the mother Ms Jiyane.

Ms Jiyane further said she was concerned about the conduct of the police officer who was supposed to act as a police officer but was taking the law into his hands. According to Ms Jiyane her son was assaulted from about 06:00 in the morning until about 08:00 and was taken to Vosman Police Station to open a case at about 12:00. Sibusiso was then taken to hospital by an ambulance from the police station.
“A doctor at the police told us that my son has contracted rabies after the dog bites. He has three open wounds in his head. He has also escaped from the hospital after he was threatened,” added the mother.

According to the mother this is not the first incident of this nature from the same family.
Captain Klaas Maloka, Vosman Police Station communication officer indicated that two people have been arrested and have appeared at the magistrate court. Police are investigating a case of assault to do grievously bodily harm.
