Another person was killed on the Old Ogies Road when a car knocked over a pedestrian.
At 19:00 on Wednesday, May 25 when two constables from Witbank Police Station were patrolling the R555 they came across an accident.
When they arrived on the scene they found the driver of the white Colt bakkie who introduced himself to the constables.
He alleged that he was travelling straight along the road when all of a sudden he saw an unknown man running straight towards him.
It was too late for the driver to stop his vehicle in time and he knocked over the pedestrian.
Paramedics from ER24 arrived on scene and declared the unknown man dead.
By Tuesday, May 31 the pedestrian had not been officially identified.
“The family did come around today and had a look at his body, but they said they would come back on Wednesday to do the official identification,” said Captain Eddie Hall, spokesperson from Witbank Police Station.
