A couple living in Tasbet Park was hi-jacked by three unknown men. On June 3 they stood by the car talking in the driveway at about 18:00 when three unknown armed men suddenly approached them. They apparently pushed the man’s wife into the boot of the car and him in the back seat with his head down.
The hi-jackers dropped them off in the bushes near Vosman before speeding off. The couple got a lift back to eMalahleni from a friend and opened a case of hi-jacking at the Witbank SAPS.
They were apparently not harmed but the robbers also made off with a couple of cell phones. Hi-jacking cases are prevalent with truck drivers travelling through eMalahleni with cargo.
Criminals use various methods of getting their targets to stop, but this particular Modes Operandi is not very common according to the SAPS.
