A 25-year-old woman was raped after she was dragged into the bushes by her alleged rapist.

The incident happened on Friday, June 3 at approximately 13:00, it is alleged that the 25-year-old woman was hitchhiking from Landau when she was approached by two unknown men.

One of them was armed with a firearm, the other suspect left the scene after the weapon was brought out.
According to the woman’s statement which was opened at Witbank police station the suspect with the firearm dragged the woman into the bushes and allegedly raped her twice.

While he was raping her the second time, she noticed that the firearm was on the ground.
She managed to get out of his tight hold and ran away, the suspect then shouted at her that if she carried on running he would shoot her.

Once he got closer to the woman, he slapped her in her face and then allegedly raped her for the third time.
He also took R105 from the woman and then let her go.
